A web address for your files that still works in twenty years — even if we don't. Yours to keep, hand on, or sell.
$20, once. No renewal, ever.
Half the links in a ten-year-old article are already dead. Anything you publish that outlives a website — a citation, a QR code on something printed, a dataset, a reference someone follows in a decade — is a bet that somebody keeps paying a hosting bill.
We took the bill out of it.
Four folders, published the same way yours will be. Each is a real address you can open.
Anything from three to forty characters. It's yours the moment you pay.
One file or five hundred. Photos, an album, documents, a whole website.
No renewals. No subscription. Nothing to cancel.
Drop in one file or five hundred. A folder of photos, an album, a set of documents, a whole website. By default you get a clean page people can browse. If it looks like photos we'll offer to make it a gallery; if it looks like an album we'll offer a player. Your choice, and you can change it later.
The name is yours outright. Keep it, give it to someone, or sell it — it moves the way a deed moves, and whoever holds it controls where it points. We can't take it back and we can't stop you selling it.
Your files aren't on our servers. They're on a storage network that was paid, once, to keep them for the next two centuries.
We can't take the link back or point it somewhere else. Not "we promise not to" — we gave up the ability, permanently, and you can check.
You get two addresses. yourname.persist is the one to share. The second is a permanent id for the files themselves — any gateway serves it, including ones we have nothing to do with.
If we go out of business, the second one still works.
| .com + free hosting | persist | |
|---|---|---|
| First year | $21.99 | $20 |
| Every year after | $21.99 | nothing |
| Over 20 years | ~$440 | $20 |
| If you stop paying | it's gone, and someone else can take the name | there's nothing to stop paying |
| If the company folds | you move it — if you notice in time | it keeps working |
| Can you sell it? | yes | yes |
| Works in any browser with no add-on | yes | only yourname.persist.click; the shorter forms need a supporting browser |
| Email, a site builder, a brand | yes | no |
GoDaddy .com renewal $21.99/yr, September 2026, assuming you host free. One year of a domain costs more than this does ever. And free hosting tiers get discontinued too — Heroku ended theirs in 2022.
This isn't a replacement for a domain. It's for keeping something reachable, permanently, without anyone having to remember.
